Hey! Announcement! I’m trying to get together enough benjamins (that’s coolspeak for money, y’all) so I can get me a yearlong Passionfruit subscription. If you’re thinking about getting any sort of blog redesign (header, social media buttons, or anything else!), consider me your girl! I’ll even give you $10 off any package until September 1st with code ‘prettyblogsftw’. Help me get my passionfruit! Truly appreciated, guys. Anyways….
Hey all. It’s 4am on Monday, you know what that means! It means I can't sleep so why not blog! Yayz. Anyways, today, I’m linking up with The Nectar Collective for Weekly Wishes. The Weekly Wishes is where we all can share our posts about goals, challenges, and wishes for the week!
Last week, I wished for a few things and was somewhat successful. Here's a recap in order of how successful I was: Firstly, I wished to not die in my first week of school. I passed this one with flying colors! I mean, it wasn't fun and my brain might be dead, but I'm still kickin' y'all! Secondly, I needed to contact teachers about tutoring. I did this! And I already have one student to tutor basically weekly. So that's good!
And thirdly, I made a goal to exercise more which I just horribly flopped on. I did maybe, uh, twenty pushups? And I speedwalked to class. That's about it. I definitely think I underestimated how crazy school would be. But I've got a pickup soccer game scheduled for tonight so it'll be nice to dust off my cleats and kick some balls! (Sorry, I just love saying that--not classy, I know.)
I'm also doing something new--linking up with Erika for Grad-itude, a link up about being grateful! Hers is on Wednesday but it made sense to group it together with my weekly wishes. Here are three things I'm grateful for right now.
The boyfriend, H. He's been really nice to me the last couple of days. I mean, he always is, but he's just been extra nice, and I really appreciate it, especially since I've been stressed about school, which I'm not usually.
My biology class! It's tough, but I am really really loving it. The first day, I had to go catch roly-polies (that's right, the bugs), and I was SO not happy, but it's definitely one of my favorite classes! I really feel like I'm absorbing a lot of information and that just feels splendid.
A busy day by myself and with friends on Saturday. I had been feeling really funky on Friday night so Saturday morning I treated myself to Manhattan Bagel for breakfast, by myself, which I love, followed by Barnes & Noble (erhmagerd, berks!!) and shopping at a little consignment shop near me. Then I had frozen yogurt with an older friend and we talked about her trip to Israel. How awesome, right?! Then H and I wrapped up the day by grabbing the best barbecue ever and watching New Girl.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
So it actually was a pretty good week, now that I think about it in that way. Here are my goals for this coming week:
I'm just sticking to two goals this week but I think that will be challenging enough!
Now head on over to The Nectar Collective and join the Weekly Wish link up.
What do you wish for this week? What are you grateful for?

So it actually was a pretty good week, now that I think about it in that way. Here are my goals for this coming week:
- Be proactive about getting schoolwork done, aka not at the last minute.
- Keep things tidy. And I mean this both mentally and literally. My room and house needs to be clean so I can be productive but I also need to keep my mind tidy so I'm not worrying about unnecessary things.
I'm just sticking to two goals this week but I think that will be challenging enough!
Now head on over to The Nectar Collective and join the Weekly Wish link up.
What do you wish for this week? What are you grateful for?
I'm grouping WW and Graditude together as well! I'm glad you took some time for yourself Saturday morning. Some days I need that too (maybe a symptom of bring an only child for me, but I love and crave that independence! Good luck on your goals! I'm sure you'll do AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteBeing tidy mentally is my personal mt everest. I'll have to add that to my weekly wishes list next week. Let me know how it goes, maybe you can give me a tip or two :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to read that your first week back to school went well. Mine is next week!! Good luck on this week's goals, they could be mine too ;) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWe have the same goal about tidyness. Good luck to us! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your return to school went so well! It can get very stressful.
ReplyDeleteTidyness is always a good goal. Good luck with it as well as your other wish for this week. I'm sure you'll do great :)
Really like your goals for this week. And I am glad to hear you survived your first week of class, makes me feel confident I will too.
ReplyDeleteLol I'm such a clean freak, so I can't study when my room is messy.. It's so easy to say you'll do your schoolwork in an hour and then TOOTAALLY forget about it until like .. the day before it's due. I'll definitely need to work on this one right here too. I'm going to go and clean my room and then start organizing everything schoolwise right now too. I'm supposed to start by next week :/ GAHH. What are you planning to do - career wise? (Since you're doing Bio ) I'm a total science nerd, so I'm gonna be off to do either an Associates degree in Bio+Chem or General Nursing.
ReplyDelete4 am?! Girl, you're crazy! I'm glad that you have so many great things going on in your life right now! Isn't it awesome when boyfriends know just what you need when you need it?! Even though it can be rare, it's pretty darn great. I think I should adopt one of your weekly goals- I need to stop putting off school work! It's a horrible habit but, hello, there's BLOGGING TO DO and if my professor's don't find that a valid excuse...than, I don't know what is. Hehe, just kidding. Kind of. Good luck with school and maintaining your goals for the week- you got this, lady!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on staying proactive with school! I was always the worst procrastinator. But I'm glad you have at least one class you love. And, like Kayli said, I'm glad your boyfriend knows when to be extra supportive!
ReplyDeleteI do too! I'm a total introvert and so when I'm moody or frustrated I just have to go do stuff on my own. Some people really don't get it but I love eating meals by myself or running errands. Thanks for your niceness! :)
ReplyDeleteYes!! I hope you do great! Let me know if you have any tips!
ReplyDeleteOh funnnn! But really--hope your classes go great!
ReplyDeleteOh man, it's my wish because I have to figure out how to do it! I'll let you know if I can :)
ReplyDeleteWell thank you Susanne! I'm sure you will do faaaaaantastic.
ReplyDeleteWell it is senior year. And everyone else is like "just wait till grad school!" and I'm like ohh no. But I'm still getting back into the swing of things. I'll be find in a week or two!
ReplyDeleteI can't either but that doesn't make me clean it haha! It's kind of an issue. And I'm hoping to work in environmental science/math research! Ideally, some work in population management in a national park or something so I can combine the two. Oddly specific I know!
ReplyDeleteI know! I couldn't sleep and then right as the time rolled around when I normally get up, I finally fell asleep. Just my luck. And H sure is great! I know G is too :) And seriously, I just want to tell all my teachers that I've got more important things than their classes! I doubt they'd llike that though :) Anyways, good luck with your goals too! :)
ReplyDeleteI know! Some days I support him but some days (like last week) I just need him to take care of me! He's a keeper :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I do! I really love a bunch of my classes; it's just a lot of work. But it's all good! I'm getting those smarticle particles.
I played soccer for a long time, and never used that phrase.
ReplyDeleteI am both disappointed and ashamed by this.
What is wrong with my not-drity, appropriate mind these days!?
Haha shame on you! My team voted to have that as our team slogan, printed on our jerseys, but we go to a Christian school so the coach kinda vetoed that brilliant idea...
ReplyDeleteDarn it. That would have freaking been awesome - and if it happened there better have been photos. lots of em. In the hypothetical future, anyway.
ReplyDeleteToo bad. Maybe just a practice T that says that?
Oooh, I like how you put the gratitude post and weekly wishes together seamlessly, Allie! Reading this gets me excited for Wednesday's linkup! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad your boyfriend has been so kind to you in the face of the stress of starting school! I hope you're able to stay on top of your homework and keep things organized! Good luck! :)
There are SO many temptations to rear you away from schoolwork. May your zen self brings you luck!
ReplyDelete"erhmagerd, berks!!" - haha you are too funny! I can't wait to co-host The Book Chat with you on Thursday. :) Good luck with you goals this week!
ReplyDeleteHa thank you! "See" you there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth! It's definitely good for me to practice being focused though!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about it! I'm about to go link it up now!
